How To Use Leave Roll Over

If you want to roll over unused leaves from one year to the next (for example 2022 to 2023), then you can use the Rollover feature.

For example, if the user has 5 days out of their 10 days yearly leave remaining/not used, those unused 5 days will carry over to the next year.

Please Note: To access this setting, you need to be a manager, admin, or owner.

If you do not want any days rolled over while using the accrual feature, limit the number of days to zero.

To roll over unused leave, you will need to turn on this feature before the year changes.

To use this feature, go to Settings and then click on "Teams" -

Then, next to your team, click the 3 dots followed by Leave Policy for the leaves you wish to roll over -

Then turn on the Roll over unused leave to next year toggle. You'll be able to set the specific rollover policy you need -

Here, you can also limit the roll over days used in the next year.

For example, if you have an employee with 20 paid time off days in 2023 with 10 days used and 10 days unused in 2023. Now you can limit the rollover over to only 5 days of those 10 unused days in 2024. So in 2024, they will have 25 paid time off days (20 paid time off days + 5 rolled over).

Roll over days expire each year on

This feature allows you to set an expiration date for when unclaimed rollover days will expire in the next year.

For example, you set a date limit for July 1st. This means the rolled-over days for 2023 are only available until July 1st, 2024. After July 1st, 2024, the rolled over days will be removed from the employee's leave limit.

Notes - The rollover will happen on January 1st, of each year.
